Cold War Kids Go Nuts at Mercury Lounge
Back in 2006, I went to see Tapes ‘n Tapes perform at Bowery. They were ok but the real star of the night were the opener, the Cold War Kids. They put on such a good show then that, a month later, I made sure to catch them at a sold-out Mercury Lounge. They move around crazily on stage and hit everything in sight – beer bottles, cymbals on cinder blocks – to make the sound they want. In short, an awesome sweaty time.
